What is your favorite part about working in construction?
Watching a project progress from an idea to architectural drawings and then a finished building.
Why do you think there are so few women in construction?
You must prove yourself in any position, but male-dominated jobs can be especially difficult. The men assume you don’t know what’s what. So, the best way is to overcome prejudice is by doing the job better.
Is there anything you think could change to make construction a more inclusive industry?
Start in elementary/middle school, showing girls that they can be successful in construction jobs.
What do you hope to see in the future for women in construction?
Opportunities for women to work in the trades and onsite.
