Monticello Vista Apartments

Monticello Vista Apartments, in coordination with the Piedmont Housing Alliance, gutted and renovated 50 apartments for people with low income and/or disabilities. Work included demolishing the kitchen and bathroom in each apartment, adding a new elevator, and replacing floors, appliances, fixtures, incorporating high efficiency heat and AC. This was a renovation in occupied spaces, so the phasing was critical. The schedule changed from completing six apartments every six weeks to completing ten apartments every five weeks. Martin Horn provided information to the client for low income housing tax credits on this project, and it featured Universal Design elements.
