UVA Alderman Road Pedestrian Bridge

This pedestrian bridge was completed at the University of Virginia, in order to provide a safe way for students to walk through campus. The project was completed in just four short months, and was first conceptualized after the Gooch Dillard residence halls became first-year housing. Pedestrian access was limited to a busy street or an informal and indirect path. The University chose to create a pedestrian path that would give students direct and safe access. Careful project planning was required to prevent damaging any of the surrounding trees during construction.
