Susan and L.F. Payne, Kenridge, Charlottesville, Virginia
We knew from the beginning that we needed a very special builder to make the dream of returning Kenridge into our home a reality. After years of Kenridge being a fraternity headquarters, it was a significant challenge! We were most fortunate that Martin Horn agreed to work with us. Under the careful planning and creative talent of Pete Schauss it was impossible to tell where new work and historic work met. Materials and the historic quality of custom construction were respected and new mechanical systems were carefully added. We continue to tell people and to be impressed that we moved in on time and on budget and that we could not be happier.
