This stately bank building on the corner of East Main and 3rd Street on the downtown mall was built in 1916. Over the last 100 years, it has hosted several different bank organizations including Peoples Bank, Virginia National Bank, Sovran Bank, NationsBank and most recently, Bank of America. In 2018, however, Martin Horn transformed this historic building into a fine-dining steakhouse: Prime 109 Steak & Libation House. While the exterior of the building remains largely unchanged, the interior has been totally transformed.
Martin Horn renovated this historic building to accommodate a full dining experience. Guests will have the opportunity to enjoy high quality meats, wines and other dishes while marveling at a convergence of historic architectural details and modern high-end finishes. Century-old barn wood flooring creates a beautiful contrast to the neoclassical inspired ceiling, Carrara marble counter tops and white tile. The eye-catching chandeliers are original to the space and light the ornate ceiling which was only updated in color palate.
