Martin Horn was hired to renovate this historic 100-year-old building. The Brody Jewish Center is the hub for Jewish life around the University of Virginia. Students use the center for a variety of activities including dinners, studying, and weekly meetings. The 10,000 square foot space has a small apartment on the upper floor and multi-use rooms throughout. Martin Horn worked closely with the architects, owners, and DHR (Department of Historic Resources) to qualify for historic tax credits. Preservation of as many details as possible was required along with many delicate and custom repairs.
