Checking in at Quirk Hotel

We’re excited to share a glimpse of the Quirk Hotel, Charlottesville.

When walking on-site, you’d first notice that there are somewhere between 80-100 workers, each with their own specific areas of expertise and projects to complete. You would then walk into the first-floor lobby, which is underway with the installation of high-end drywall finishes and terrazzo flooring. If you continue to walk through the first floor, you’d see two large curtain walls in the lounge and private dining areas, featuring tall, thin panels of glass which accent the sweeping arches and tall ceilings. Moving onto the second floor, you’d see tile being laid in the bathrooms and the first coat of paint being applied.

Soon the window and door trim will be complete, which will then allow the crews to begin on the tile, painting, and trim on the third floor. Our self-performing field team and amazing group of subcontractors will work together, repeating this process on each floor until the building is complete. In late October, we will begin reviewing punch-list items with the architect on a floor-by-floor basis. Once everything is carefully inspected and perfected, the Quirk hospitality team will begin a phased process of moving furniture into the building.

This project has been an exciting one and we can’t wait to share the completed space with the public. We are thankful for our partners at Bank Street Advisors, ARCHITECTUREFIRMEngineering Solutions and Procon Inc..
