Building Goodness Battle of the Bands raises $80,000

Building Goodness Foundation, a Charlottesville-based nonprofit that provides construction services for communities in need, raised nearly $80,000 at its Battle of the Bands and inaugural Rockin’ Auction this past Friday, September 20. The funding will support the construction of clinics, schools, specialized housing, and community centers in Virginia, Haiti, and Central America.

The winning band, The Precedents, raised over $8,000 for Building Goodness Foundation. Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft LLP sponsored the Precedents. Additional bands, who together raised $22,000, included Jacabone (sponsored by Cathcart Group), 180 (sponsored by Virginia National Bank), Blake Hunter of Trees on Fire (sponsored by Martin Horn and the Worrell Chapman Family Fund), the Durty Weasels (sponsored by Ace Contracting, Allied Concrete, Alexander Nicholson, and Shelter Associates Ltd), and Fatty Lumpkin and the Love Hogs.
