Building Goodness Foundation, a Charlottesville-based nonprofit that provides construction services for communities in need, raised nearly $80,000 at its Battle of the Bands and inaugural Rockin’ Auction this past Friday, September 20. The funding will support the construction of clinics, schools, specialized housing, and community centers in Virginia, Haiti, and Central America.

The winning band, The Precedents, raised over $8,000 for Building Goodness Foundation. Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft LLP sponsored the Precedents. Additional bands, who together raised $22,000, included Jacabone (sponsored by Cathcart Group), 180 (sponsored by Virginia National Bank), Blake Hunter of Trees on Fire (sponsored by Martin Horn and the Worrell Chapman Family Fund), the Durty Weasels (sponsored by Ace Contracting, Allied Concrete, Alexander Nicholson, and Shelter Associates Ltd), and Fatty Lumpkin and the Love Hogs.

At Martin Horn, the health and safety of our partners, team members, and community always comes first. It is this belief that continues to guide our actions, as we navigate the quickly evolving Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Martin Horn is closely monitoring guidance from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), World Health Organization (WHO), and other government (federal and local) entities in real-time to inform operational decisions that safeguard the well-being of our partners and team members, alike.
