Cost:
$4.3 million
Completion: November 2005
The Albemarle County Health Services and Public
Safety Building required an aggressive schedule:
$4.3 million in renovations to be completed in
just nine months. In addition, as a change order,
the owner asked Martin Horn to add 6,000 square
feet of new space within the same timeframe. The
project moved so rapidly that the steel stud supplier
was not able to deliver the required quantity
of studs in time. Martin Horn requested permission
to modify the stud specificationa decision
that saved the schedule. A talented project team
worked closely with Heyward, Boyd Architects and
Albemarle County, and finished all phases of the
project on time.
