Cost: $4.7 million Completion: August 2008 With a seamless design and careful construction, it's hard to tell we just completed a 28,000 sf addition to the Martha Jefferson House retirement community. The expansion includes 12 independent living suites, a geothermal HVAC system, and new hardscapes and green areas, all designed to blend with the existing 1920's building. Not only did we work around 60 elderly residents, but the site was also wedged into a neighborhood filled with UVA students, a preschool and a library. The gorgeous new suites were quickly filled.
