UVA Claude Moore Nursing Education Building

The Claude Moore Nursing Education Building provides state-of-the-art learning facilities for UVa, as well as the Medical and Allied Health Science Programs. Significant technology and energy efficiency upgrades created a high-tech learning environment for the award-winning School of Nursing. Construction of the project proved to be challenging, as the site was in a highly trafficked area, adjacent to another active construction site. With limited lay-down area for materials, public safety concerns and underground utility issues, Martin Horn worked to coordinate material delivery and utility work, while also ensuring safety measures were taken for all faculty, staff, students and pedestrians. Through a comprehensive project management approach and transparent communication with the university’s project team, Martin Horn was still able to complete the project on-time and within budget.
