Community commitment is a core value at Martin Horn. We feel fortunate to own and operate a business in the Charlottesville community. All of our principals are life long residents of Charlottesville and we actively seek ways to give back. We serve on the boards of numerous community organizations, and we actively encourage our managers and employees to become involved.

Martin Horn is involved with the Building Goodness Foundation. We became a licensed General Contract in the State of Mississippi so we could donate our services to Building Goodness as the General Contractor for the new Community Center in Pearlington, Mississippi. We donate our resources to Building Goodness in April (formerly called Christmas in April) every year. We participate in the United Way Day of Caring annually. We also support Design and Challenge, a program focused on developing students' academic abilities through vocational training in the construction field.

We also support many other community organizations through both in-kind and financial donations. In 2007 these included:

Schools, such as Clark Elementary, Peabody School, Tandem Friends School, Miller School, The Field School, Charlottesville High School, Free Union Country School, and CATEC
Arts organizations, such as First Night Virginia, the Music Resource Center, Virginia Discovery Museum, Ash Lawn Opera, Light House, and Live Arts
Health causes, like the American Heart Association, Multiple Sclerosis Society, and the Free Clinic
Special Olympics, Meals on Wheels, Boys and Girls Club, Children's Wish Foundation, Computers 4Kids, and MACAA
The Associated General Contractors, Virginia Society AIA (American Institute of Architects), and Charlottesville Chamber of Commerce
UVa and UVa Athletics
Monticello

Last year, Martin Horn donated the construction of a memorial wall at Clark Elementary School and donated all labor for the construction of a preschool playground at St. Mark's Church. Martin Horn is proud to be a Charlottesville community builder.
